The ratio of students taking drop for IIT JEE & other engineering colleges is increasing day by day. Either the peer pressure make students to go for a drop or mostly the expectations of their parents.
Pursuing career in engineering is no more than a modern trend which is taken seriously in the recent decade. People don't know why they wanna be an engineer they are just following the crowd. And consequently it lead to go for a drop. Trust me its not worth it. Being a dropper myself i know how it feels. Putting your life on stake for almost an year is not an easy doing.

I have broadly divided the major two scenarios of taking drop into two categories.
First scenario is when you study & are able to get a decent college. Taking drop doesn't seem a mistake but you still think that you could have done better. Anyway, the afterlife is not so difficult then.
But the second scenario may mess you up with your life.
You study what you once thought you'd never. You keep yourself upto coaching & home. You stop talking to your friends, who have already got admitted into their respective colleges, because all they talk about is how awesome & fab their life in college is, no doubt, this ultimately lead you to grow pungent feelings.Although it's very difficult to concentrate on your studies because of so much pressure & expectation but you do your best to cross the previously setted certain level* .
You screw yourself up.. Results out.. And guess what??
You just got flunked again. And the feeling u get is suicidal. You got depressed.
Life seems to come to an end. But you somehow manage to deal with it.
Atlast you end up with taking a below average, fuckingly terrible college.
What you see around you is all geeks & goofy people. There is none like you. Hence, you failed to make a bunch of good friends. You see your school friends & schoolmates being your senior. The people who once were way back you are ahead you in college. You got the feeling of somebody punching u hard when you have to call them SIR/MA'AM.
You don't feel like answering the questions in class even if you know the answer very well because you know it just not worth it.
You start skipping college, your attendance starts to fall down. And your college life begins to annoy the hell out of you!
After an year of imprisonment (drop-year) you set free of yourself like a trapped bird.
EXAM TIME... " I studied hell much in my drop year but what difference did i make ?? NOTHING !! So lets just study to get pass. "
And guess what you just able to cross the threshold marks. " Anyone can score good by mugging up stuff which they don't know a thing about. But I am better an average scorer , scored just because of my actual knowledge. "
And if you are in Bhopal.. Ye RGPV hain beta ;)
[where the result is completely based on your attendance]
I belong to the second scenario, and have experienced it all.
Can a single mistake of yours make your life miserable?
Trust me it can!
Taking drop may seem like an ordinary decision but it can either built a life or can nurture the feeling of remorse & regretfulness for the rest of your college life.
But let me tell you one thing, your talent your abilities can't be bound by the institute you are in. If you have the capability to come out of the crowd, YOU WILL, irrespective of the college you are in.
[ * the level may vary person to person ]
